LFBI FAQs

  • LFBI holds to a traditional dispensational theology and a literal view of the Bible. The course instruction is informed by a belief in the preservation of the Holy Scriptures and a philosophy of discipleship and missions that emphasizes the significance of local church ministry.

You can learn more about our theology on the “beliefs” page of our site https://www.lfbi.org/beliefs

  • LFBI is for anyone who desires to grow in their knowledge of God’s word and their ability to minister. This may be a pastor or a pastor-in-training, a missionary or future missionary, a Sunday school worker, a biblical counselor or a Bible study leader. LFBI has built a program of study that is both rigorous but also accommodating for anyone who has an interest in applying God’s word to their life.

We have also built our program to accommodate those with learning disabilities. If you have questions about accommodations, please feel free to inquire when you submit your form.

  • LFBI is only $40 a credit hour. This is much lower than the cost of most Christian institutions.

From LFBI’s inception, we were committed to making Bible education affordable. To make this vision a reality, we rely heavily on mission-minded patrons for financial support. Through fundraising, a reliance on online platforms and professors who passionately offer their time and knowledge at a reduced rate, we have made LFBI a remarkably affordable options for all of our students.

  • By flexible we mean the we make our courses available both online and in person. Classes are streamed live each Saturday morning for live viewing and are also made available online so that students can attend the lecture throughout the week if they can’t attend the live class. If you are local to Kansas City, we encourage students to attend class in person whenever possible.

The goal of making LFBI flexible is so that you have time for family and ministry while you get your education.

  • The program of study will take the average full time student 2-3 years to complete. A full time semester includes 8-12 credit hours. With that said, LFBI is designed for working adults and college students so the program can be paced at whatever rate that is appropriate for your life. Many of our students simply take one course a semester because it is all they have capacity for, that’s okay, we are here to support every growing Christian committed to the program.

  • While the State of Missouri has authorized LFBI to grant an Associates of Divinity degree, LFBI is not accredited with any accreditation bodies. Accreditation is incredibly expensive and in some cases can take many years to attain. With that in mind, LFBI has built and is building reciprocity agreements with larger accredited seminaries and Bible schools so that students can transfer credits to schools that offer Bachelors degrees.
