About Mark Trotter

For nearly 25 years, Mark Trotter served as the pastor of First Baptist Church of New Philadelphia, Ohio. After years of preaching, discipling, and leading, he stepped down as head pastor in order to focus his attention on being an author and teaching pastor. He liked to say his passions were “The Four M’s”: ministers, marriages, men, and missions. By 2016, the Lord opened a door to direct these passions to training young pastors in Malawi, Africa. Mark spent almost a decade training pastors to understand biblical doctrine and spread the gospel throughout Africa.

Over the years, Mark became well known for his gift of preaching and spent much of his energy guest speaking at conferences and retreats across the United States. He wrote many wonderful commentaries and teaching materials, many of which are used in LFBI classrooms. He helped to develop and support the Living Faith Bible Institute and was also a cherished professor of the Homiletics and Prayer & Worship courses.

In February 2021 Mark passed away, leaving an incredible legacy behind. He will be remembered for many things, among which are his love for people, his heart for missions, his love for Christ and His Word, and a passion to teach sound doctrine.
